Today’s event is in response to the questions & confusion that many of you have regarding
the rumors of a huge pipeline through your community. Dominion’s official map. shows
the 42” methane transmission PROPOSED pipeline along the Kumbrabow border crossing
Rt. 250 south of the Huttonsville Correction Center & east directly towards Cheat Mtn.

The proposed 15 foot deep, 550 mile methane transmission linebegins in Harrison
Cty,
going through rural Lewis, Upshur, Randolph & Pocahontas County in WV. Dominion has held
Open Houses in every county but Randolph & there are over fifty land owners affected.

Doyle Land Co. employees have been contacting local residents since June to purchase 200”
Right of Way’s offering $12,000 an acre, threatening eminent domain & trespassing. Here an acre
is 200 feet wide then however long. One is not paid for each acre the pipeline goes through.
Also, the land owner pays income taxes on the easement sale &forever pays propertytaxes on
land one is not allowed to use. The rate could become industrial tax rate at any time.

The methane will not be used until it reaches end destinations in coastal VA and NC. Not one
community or industry will have access along the 550 miles. In Kentucky a law
was
passed stating that since eminent domain centers on”public use” & there
was zero
public use or benefit locally from the proposed Bluegrass Pipeline. Legislation
supports
that gas companies could not condemn by eminent domain the Kentucky

Concerns of Mill Creek and Huttonsville residents include:
- their family land being taken by eminent domain and ruining it for future generations
- blasting and drilling could ruin our water - Any fire or leak would kill us
- methane is odorless, underground rock slide could damage the pipeline & we
wouldn’t know

- heavy huge truck traffic through our area for years since Rt 250 is the major road on route
- diesel fumes 24/7, elderly population, asthma & three schools without air
conditioning

- Dominion said jobs are mostly out of state licensed certified Union workers [no-jobs-wetzel]
- permanent destruction & health dangers to our town
- this route goes through native trout streams and by caves with endangered species
- response time from Clarksburg with hazmat equipment if there was a fire or leak
- hunting, fishing and wildlife being hurt or destroyed
